Your bitmarks list and all it can do!

One great thing about the internet is how much new stuff there is to see every day. From delicious dinner recipes to published journal research, all this stuff is at our fingertips at any given moment. But sometimes this information can be overwhelming, and it becomes difficult to find what you’re looking for when you need it.

Wouldn’t it be great to find all your favorite links across the web in one location? We think so, and that’s why we’ve made it easy for you to collect, organize, and find all the links you save (we call those bitmarks) in your bitmark list. Anything you save with bitly can be found there, whether you save via the bitmarklet tool, Chrome Extension, or paste a link directly on bitly.com.

After you’ve saved your bitmarks you can easily share, organize, and add notes to them. You can even bundle them or make them public or private. Read on to learn more about what you can do through your bitmarks list.

Share your bitmarks via Facebook, Twitter or email

Did you save a great article that you can’t wait to share with friends? Simply hover over a bitmark, and you’ll have the option to share via email, Facebook and Twitter.

Organize your bitmarks

Are you a teacher? Maybe you’d want to create a bundle of helpful links for a lesson plan. You might be someone who loves to plan ahead. Make a bundle of gift ideas for the holidays, restaurants you’d love to try in your neighborhood, or cities you’d like to visit. There are many ways that bundles can help you stay organized.

You can also add notes to any of your bitmarks, making it easier to find links you’ve previously saved. One great thing about notes is they help you find your old bitmarks. The searchbox looks through all of your notes and titles and helps you find exactly what you’re looking for- fast.

pro tip: We allow lightweight ‘hashtagging’ in the notes field. Words with a # before them, for example #resources or #recipes can be clicked on to find other bitmarks you’ve saved with the same tag.

Search your bitmarks instantly

Your old bitmarks are easy to find thanks to the search bar at the top of your bitmarks list. To find a bitmark, type in a keyword from the title or notes section of the bitmark you’re looking for. You can also paste a shortlink.

Use the handy searchbox dropdown menu to filter for shared, public, private, or archived bitmarks.

Edit multiple bitmarks at once

It’s easy to manage many bitmarks at once using bulk actions. Simply select the check box next to as many bitmarks as you want.  At the top of your bitmarks list you’ll see the option to add them to a bundle, make them public or private, or archive them. To perform the same action on multiple items you can use the drop down bulk tool. Learn more about bulk actions here.

View stats and share history

Want access the shortlink or basic click counts for a bitmark? Simply hover over over a bitmark and press the ‘i’ icon. If you’ve previously shared this bitmark to a social network you’ll also be able to see its share history.

pro tip: Press shift+i to see information for all the bitmarks on your list. Learn more about keyboard shortcuts.

Now that you know the full potential of your bitmark list, go out there and save some links!
